Sage B Green Energy has taken the Live Earth Pledge (07/07/07)

www.liveearth.org

1.  To demand that my country join and international treaty within the next 2 years that cuts global pollution by 90% in developed countries and by more than half worldwide in time for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth.

2.  To take personal action to solve climate crisis by reducing my CO2 pollution as much as I can and ofsetting the rest to become "carbon neutral"

3.  To fight for a moratorium on the construction of any new generation facility that burns coal without the capacity to safely trap and store CO2

4.  To work for a dramatic increase in the energy efficiency of my home, workplace, school, place of worship, and means of transportation

5.  To fight for laws and policies that expand the use of renewable energy sources and reduce dependance on oil and coal

6.  To plant new trees and to join with others in preserving and protecting forests

7.  To buy from businesses and support leaders who share my commitment to solving the climate crisis and building a sustainable, just and prosperous world for the 21st Century.

I pledge this for my children and my grandchildren!

Frequently Asked Questions:

If you seal up my house too tight, will I get any fresh air?

It's not possible to seal an existing home too tight.  Even if we could, or if we were building a new home tight, we would substitute mechanical ventilation.

We cannot, without tearing out walls, address every leak or draft.  We will address a substantial amount of that leak or draft in our recommendations.

Can I complete some of your recommendations myself?  I'm pretty handy.

Some of the most common recommendations can be completed by homeowners.  We do not recommend handy homeowners tackle certain tasks, and we will be very upfront about what can be done by you and what we don't recommend you do.  How you handle the fixes is entirely up to you.

How much money can I save?

The savings depends on a number of things:
*How tight is the house to begin with?
*How does the family use the house?
*How many of the recommendations are implemented and at what levels?

The average cost savings is 20%, but in our own houses, we've gotten 40% or more!
